Johnston, John Bennett, Jr., Former and Chairman of Johnston & Associates.

Johnston was born in Shreveport, Caddo Parrish, La., on June 10, 1932.

He was educated in the public schools of Shreveport, La.
He attended Washington and Lee University and United States Military Academy.
In 1956 he was graduated from Louisiana State University Law School, Baton Rouge, La.

Professional activity:
From 1956 to 1959 he served in the United States Army, Judge Advocate General Corps, Germany.
From 1964 to 1968 he was a member, Louisiana House of Representatives, serving as floor leader.
From 1968 to 1972 he was a member of State senate.
From 1972 to 1973 he served as a Democrat to the United States Senate.
In 1978, 1984 and from 1990 he was reelected and served till 1997.
In 1997 he founded Johnston & Associates.
In 2004 Johnston was a maximum contributor to the presidential campaign of his former colleague Senator John Kerry of Massachusetts.

In 1997, Johnston was inducted into the Louisiana Political Museum and Hall of Fame in Winnfield.

He is a member of the Baptist Church.

Johnston & Associates was founded in 1997.
Since that time it has provided strategic public and legislative affairs consultation and representation to a broad range of some of the world's largest and most progressive private and public entities.
It is  bipartisan firm who offers a broad range of client services.
